How to Apply & Other FAQs

 

In accordance with the Council on Accreditation and FSEAP policy, all FSEAP Clinical Affiliate Providers must apply and provide documentation to confirm their education, credentials, professional registration and experience as professional counsellors experienced in delivering Employee and Family Assistance counselling. Professionals who believe they meet FSEAP 's qualifying criteria are encouraged to apply for registration as an FSEAP Clinical Affiliate Provider by submitting an application package:

What to submit:

  • Your letter of interest
  • Current Resume or CV (including Professional Development)
  • Copy of Proof of Current Provincial Professional Registration
  • Copy of Proof of Insurance (minimum $2M coverage)
  • Copy of Highest Counselling Related Degree/Transcripts
  • Two Letters/Names of References

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long does it take for my application to be approved?

From the date you submit your application, FSEAP can complete the credentialing process can take from two to four weeks. The length of time depends on how quickly FSEAP receives the required documents.

Q. Can I request expedited approval?

FSEAP processes applications are general processed in the order received or based up regional needs (for example, regional areas for which we are currently recruiting will be given priority).

Q. If my application isn’t approved, can I appeal the decision? If so, how?

FSEAP approves applications based upon the information provided by the applicant. Those that aren’t approved are generally denied due to not having met FSEAP’s provider criteria.

Q. If my application is approved, what happens next?

You will be sent a Letter of Agreement that outlines the agreements and expectations of Affiliate Providers, and requested to complete and criminal record search and an Affiliate Profile Form.

Upon receiving the Letter of Agreement signed by the Provider and the completed Affiliate criminal record check, the Provider will be then registered in the FSEAP Provider Network system, and will then be eligible to receive referrals. Affiliate Provider Clinical forms and instructions for submitting invoices for services provided are available on this website.

Q. If my application is approved, does it expire after a period of time?

FSEAP’s Provider Agreement (in other words, the contract) doesn’t have an expiration date, although all Network providers must provide proof of professional development, current professional liability insurance and professional registration annually. Providers who fail to provide the necessary documents upon request face possible deactivation of their provider status, if after two requests for proof have not yielded the necessary documentation, termination of their contract.
