Community Youth Work

Our community based service provides therapeutic youth work to individual children and youth (ages 8 to 18) who are referrals from Child & Family Services.  Therapeutic relationships are established through the process of role modelling, mentoring, supporting and advocating.

Program Goals:

  • Increase youth’s communication/social skills
  • Increase youth’s problem solving, anger management and coping skills
  • Increase youth’s life and living skills
  • Increase youth’s relationships/attachments to family, friends and community
  • Increase youth’s awareness of community resources/activities
  • Increase youth’s strengths and resiliencies
  • Increase youth’s ability to make healthy lifestyle choices/positive decision making
  • Increase Aboriginal youth’s awareness of their cultural background
  • Increase youth’s awareness of themselves/identity
